CoI’s Investigation Directorate, in Al-Basra Governorate, revealed that it was able to seize assistant director of Safwan border custom and two members in checking committee on charges of passing illegal petitions.
In the course of discussing operation details that was ex ecuted at Safwan border under judicial warrant, the directorate indicated that the seizure operation resulted in seizing assistant director of Safwan border custom and two members in checking committee for complete the petitions of one of the civil company specialized in importing Juices and flavors.
The Directorate confirmed that its initial investigations revealed that the seized accused persons completed petitions of the company without the approval of the Health Committee in the port, although half of the validity period of items has expired.
The office organized legal seizure report of the seized mterials during the operation, and was presented with the seized criminal exhibited before investigating judge, who decided to detain the accused persons under the investigation.
The Directorate announced on 6th of this month that it was able to thwart an attempt to enter unexamined foodstuffs to the country, stating that the office arrested six accused persons working in a civil company collusion with employees of the Ministry of Health and the customs of Basra province to enter shipment of unexamined chickens.
