COI Office of Investigation revealed that Criminal Court of Qadisya issued four in presence sentences to jail against a number of officials in the province who were caught in act of taking bribery.
Referring to the details of the cases investigated by the Commission and referred to judiciary, the Office pointed out that imprisonment sentences included the director of Rafidain Bank branch- the right side and the director of Diwanyia Educational Hospital; for they received bribes from one of the contractors in return for reimbursements.
The money and director of branch were seized at the time of committing bribery, in addition to sentencing the head of committee on energy and a member of the committee in Diwanyia; for taking bribery from an individual in return for promising to provide a license of operating generator.
The court reached to a conviction on criminalizing the four defendants by sentence them to seven years imprisonment pursuant to item second 1 of decision no.160 for 1983.
Noteworthy to mention, that Commission of Integrity, last month has announced it was able to implement two seizure operations, following investigation resulted in arrest of the two convicts against whom received conviction sentences.
