CoI Commissioner judge (Ezzat Tawfiq Jaafar) stressed the importance of unifying the efforts of oversight bodies in order to face the current challenges and meet mass aspirations, noting that protects the country from dissemination of corruption and influence of corrupts is the only option for national oversight bodies, which are determined not to leave the yard to corrupts seeking to undermine the basis of state by disseminating the phenomenon of corruption.
Through the monthly meeting of national oversight bodies held at CoI’s Iraqi Anti-Corruption Academy with the presence of chief of federal B.S.A and IGs, CoI’s commissioner stressed the importance of moving forward in order to meet the challenges confront national oversight bodies, pointing out that the coming days will witness completion of important files that directly affect the lives of citizens, such as real-estate files, borders entry points, oil smuggling and investment, calling for unifying the efforts and specifying the tasks assigned to each institutions of this system, stressing the need to develop its work through reviewing and evaluating the previous steps and plan future strategies as determined by pros and cons.
Chief of federal B.S.A ( Dr. Salah Nouri Khalaf ) clarified that the current stage depends mainly on the work of national oversight bodies in order to accomplish the important tasks dealt directly with people live.
The I.G of Ministry of Interior (Jamal Al-A`ssadi) as a coordinator of I.G offices at the Higher Council for Fighting Corruption highlighted the Council`s work system, noting his supportive role for the work of national preventive bodies in order to accelerate the pace of their work.
Through the meeting, the presence discussed many issues concerning the work of national oversight bodies and the challenges they face, as well as discussing the listed topic on its agenda, referring to the ways of speeding up the pace of joint work to complete the draft of National Anti-Corruption Strategy and national integrity standard, which is the best experience proved its successful in countries applied it, in addition to discussing the work of committees formed from CoI, B.S.A and IGs` offices specialized in monitoring the governmental policies and implementing the governmental program, in addition to many other service and strategic files.
