CoI Investigation office revealed that it was able to seize the head of inspection committee of Northern Umm Qaser Customs, a member of the committee and a customs broker for the attempt to enter materials in contrary to what is mentioned in the import license.
In the course of discussing seizure operation details, the office stated that team of Al-Basra Investigation Directorate was able to arrest three persons red-handed with the attempt of smuggling container loaded with motorcycles, which were mentioned in the (Manifest) as spare parts for motorcycles to evade the pay of customs fees, indicating that the seizure operation was implemented according to a judicial order under article 340 of P.C.
The office added that a formal minutes was recognized and submitted to the competent investigating judge to take legal appropriate legal action.
It’s worth be noted that CoI implanted number of seizure operation in Umm Qaser Northern Port, the last was announced in Jan. 21st concerning seizing assistant head of Northern Umm Qaser Customs red-handed with smuggling three containers loaded with engine oil.
