COI revealed that it was able to return a property located in distinct place in Kadhimiya to state ownership in cooperation with Inspector General of Baghdad Municipality.
COI clarified that its continued follow-up resulted in issuance of the Court Of Appeal -Baghdad/Karkh federal decision to return the property, its area 642, 12 square meters, from the wife of a senior official in the previous government, indicating that the property has been re-registered in the name of the Baghdad Municipality in the same area, and invalidate the registration under which the name of the official wife and all subsequent records. COI showed that the decision come to final and certified by the appeal court.
COI found, through its investigations, that the property was sold by the official to his wife in violation to the legal controls stipulated in the Law of Sale and Rent of State Properties No. 32 of 1986, and without conducting a public bid.
