Joint council of anti-corruption discuses challenges facing national oversight system’s work

Joint council of anti-corruption discussed the challenges that facing the work of national oversight system, while discussing the ways and means to overcome these challenges and fine effective solutions to solve them.

The council reviewed, at the meeting, which included “the secretary general of cabinet (Mahdi AL-Allaq), commissioner of CoI judge (E’zzat Tawfiq Ja’far) and head of federal BSA (Dr. Salah Nouri) the outputs of work of (CoI, federal BSA and IG offices), highlighting the most prominent completed works by these bodies and what is expected to be accomplished in the next stage according to plans and work’s strategies that previously prepared by them.

The council studied the plans and procedures of anti-corruption in two main components the (protective and deterrent). Pointing out the need to build the legal system to fight corruption and activate the mechanisms of work that commensurate with the scale of current challenges, indicating of the importance of completing national strategy to fight corruption and provide their requires.

The above council discussed the main issued in its agenda, especially concerning the works of IG offices, suggesting the recommendations thereon, calling for the ex ecutive and legislative the necessity of cooperating and work completely with national oversight system, in order to achieve the requires of anti-corruption.
