In Kirkuk.. Return of a property worth two and half billion dinars to state ownership

Staff of the Investigation Office- Kirkuk in COI, in coordination with the Office of Inspector-General of the Ministry of the Interior, arrested eight accused persons for taking poss ession of five-acre state-owned property. The value of the estimated land (2,500,000,000) two and a half billion Iraqi Dinars.

Investigation office-COI, while it talking about the details of operation carried out under writ, noted that the staff of the office, as a result of follow-up and scrutiny, arrested the suspects who seized the property belongs to Ministry of Finance. The property located in Al Wasiti Quarter in Kirkuk city center. Adding that the accused persons unlawfully divided the land into residential plots preparing for selling to citizens.

The office confirmed that the defendants were caught in act based on the provisions of the article 240 of Penal Code, as well as all related documents used in seizure process were seized. The office mentioned that proper seizure minute was organized and presented before specialized judge to take proper legal procedures.

It is noteworthy that the COI announced, on the seventeenth of last May, that it returned back lands worth 3 billion Iraqi Dinars to the state ownership in Kirkuk.
