Former Director of Agriculture Cooperative bank of Mysan receives sentence for embezzling eight billion dinars

COI Investigation Office revealed issuance of judgment to a sever jail in presence against the former director of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the province of Maysan (M.A.J) for embezzlement of public funds while he was the Bank’s director in the province.
In a statement on the details of the judgment of Maysan Criminal Court, the Office explained that the convicted embezzled an amount of more than eight billion dinars when he was the director of the bank.
After reviewing the statements of the legal representative of the bank, the court issued its decision in accordance with the provisions of Article 316 of the Penal Code and in terms of Articles 47, 48 and 49, with give the affected party the right to review the civil courts to claim compensation when the decision comes to final.
On 12/6/2017, The Commission of Integrity announced the implementation of arrest warrant against the Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank – Aumara Branch.
On 22/11/2017, it also called on the Ministry of Finance the necessity to put an end to the administrative and financial corruption in the transactions of granting agricultural loans in branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank.
It is worth mentioning that, the Commission of Integrity was able to maintain about 220 billion dinars of public funds in the branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank through implementing of many caught-in act operations.
