CoI investigation office stated of default judgment against former governor of Diyala (Abdul Al-Nasir Al-Muntasir Billah Mohammed Al-Mahdawi) and former director of one of the channels in the governorate for causing damage in the public funds more than billion dinars.
The office showed in it speech the details of default judgment which issued by Diyala Criminal Court against fugitives convicts caused a damage in funds and benefits of the governorate. The first defendant authorized the second defendant to delegate with the company that implementing and operating the satellite channel. The second defendant discharged the company from any damage or failure of materials contrary to the conditions which causing the damage in the public funds amounted (IQD 1.119.525.000).
The court read the statement of legal representative of Diyala governorate who supported existence of violations by the fugitive convicts and he requested the complaint against them and the administrative investigating and the drafts of the project, it sufficient and convincing to convict them and were sentenced to imprisonment for seven years according to the article 340 PC and in reference with (47, 48, 49).
The verdict of court included issuing an arrest warrant against the fugitive convict, seizing the movable and immovable funds and gave the right to affected entity (Diyala governorate) to demand compensation when the decision become finial.
